Ramblings from an Exhausted Mom

Where do I start?  I wanted to give you an update about what's been going on lately.  It's been an extremely busy week.

Last Friday - I got to do a long run in the A.M. kid and husbandless.  It was amazing.  Then in the afternoon, we closed on our new house.  Yep, that's right, we have a house. It's official and it just so happens to be the one we thought we lost.  We couldn't be happier.  Friday night S and I spent all evening steam cleaning carpets.  It was then that I realized how big the house was.  We were exhausted but I felt a little piece of mind knowing it was done.

Saturday - We cleaned and cleaned and cleaned.  From 9:30 to 6:30 we washed down walls, scrubbed bathrooms, dusted blinds, etc.  You name it, we cleaned it with help from an amazing woman that comes ready to tackle any job.  (I totally should've taken her picture).

Sunday - I thought we'd be heading home for my nephew's baptism however, E had a different plan.  Around 4 AM he started crying a cry I had never heard before.  I couldn't get him to calm down.  Long story short...we spent all day in the Children's ER while they ran every test they could think of on this poor kid.  The only thing they could diagnos it as was "abdominal cramping".  Regardless, they sent us home, and after a nice LONG family nap, he woke up and it was like nothing had ever happened.  He was perfectly fine.  Strange and Scary!  When we got back to our temporary housing, I captured this moment between father and son and about lost it for the millionth time that day.  Can you feel the love in this picture?  It still makes me tear up.

Monday - MOVING DAY!! We had painters and movers at the house from around 11 to 5.

Tuesday - Unpacking, more painting and our first night in the house.  We stayed there last night and it felt so strange.  Even though it was our bed and our sheets and our stuff, it still felt like we were staying at someone else's house.  I've almost got the kitchen unpacked.

I'm working on the list of projects that need to get done.  So far we've done a couple critical things:

1. S, his mom and dad removed and recaulked the shower in the master bath
2. S and his dad replaced the shower heads in both upstairs showers
3. They also added this to my kitchen.  Before, there was no designated spot for a trash can.  Now I have this.

4. I tried this but you have to have a really strong rod or they just all fall

I've been capturing all my ideas for the house on Pintrest.  You can check out all my boards at:

Do you use Pintrest?  My goal is to do one project a month from my boards.  I'm doing pretty good at the moment.  We'll see what happens when school starts next week.  Oh yeah, did I tell you I start Graduate School next Friday?  Should be a lot of fun!
