I SweatPink! Do You?

I'm honored to have been invited to be part of the SweatPink Ambassadors.  The Fit Approach SweatPink Ambassadors are a group of like-minded people who all have a passion for staying fit and helping others do the same.

I've been working on staying fit my entire life.  I've always been an athlete.  I tried my hand at just about every sport I could...volleyball, softball, golf, water sports, cheer leading, etc.  I loved it.  Eventually Volleyball and Softball stuck and ended up playing both in college.  Then when college ended I found myself looking for direction.  I needed that competitive outlet.  I needed to know I was training towards a goal.  I joined a local gym and met a Professional Fitness Competitor (angie monteleone-semsch).  She owned the gym and got me involved in Fitness competitions.

I competed for two seasons and realized quickly that doing those along with a full time job wasn't going to work.  So I made the decision to hang it up.

The next day, I decided I'd go for a run.  Mind you I hadn't done any running since college where it was used as gate keeper to getting to play.  I ran for 10 minutes (walk/run actually) and felt pretty good.  Good enough to want to do it again just to see if I could run for 12 minutes..and that's how it started.  That was almost 10 years ago and I've been running ever since.  About 5 years ago, I also started dabbling with Triathlon which I also love.  Triathlon training is another activity that requires careful planning and I'm working to get back into it now that E (my 1 1/2 year old son) is getting to an age where I feel comfortable doing it.

I'm excited to be part of the SweatPink Ambassadors because I care.  I care about how I can make a difference, how I can motivate and/or inspire.  I can't wait to get my pink shoe laces to make it official.  In the meantime, follow the hashtag #SweatPink on twitter to uncover a wonder world of amazing people who will inspire you to SweatPink!
