There are days when I don't get to eat lunch. There are days when I do get to eat lunch but I'm still hungry or get hungry around 3:00 and rather than going for the vending machine, having these little beauties on hand are a great alternative. Take, for example what I ate today. ..
I prepped my food this morning, I packed:
- Broccoli
- Edemame
- Carrots
- Rice Bowl
- Soy Sauce
Heated up the rice,
- Steamed the broccoli and edemame
- Mixed them together with a single pack of soy sauce
- Stirred
- Enjoyed!
It was perfect! Satisfying! In fact, a couple people stopped me to investigate a little further.
So not only are these little beauties perfect for work, but looking ahead, I foresee myself with MANY situations where I may only have 60 seconds to prepare and possibly eat lunch. I'm thinking I need to have a cabinet full of these.
Not to mention the fact that E loves them and I love that he loves them!
I could also see these being very helpful if you have older kids in sports and you're trying to run from practice to practice but still need to get them to eat. I would consider these a great alternative to fast food.
So head to the grocery store, pick some up and stock the cabinet!

As you already know I love me some Minute Rice! So fast and tasty ... not to mention healthy!
ReplyDeleteTotally agree! Brown rice in a minute?! I'll take it anyday.
DeleteYum, looks like the perfect little heathy lunch to go!
ReplyDeleteIt was good. I just wish I would've had some chicken.
DeleteI love minute ready rice! It is perfect if I am in a hurry. I usually add some broccoli and sweat and sour sauce to it. So yummy!
ReplyDeleteSweet and sour sauce sounds amazing in it! YUM!
DeleteI use minute rice, and the Uncle Ben's 90 second rice packets, they are great! Easy quick affordable and tasty. I am going to have to try some of those recipes that go along with them!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely do! Hopefully you'll like them
DeleteThe idea is great...especially if you're on the go :)
ReplyDeleteWe just got ourselves a rice cooker...it comes with a timer!
A rice cooker sounds like one of those kitchen appliances I'd use all the time!
DeleteThat is a great idea but I was raised to eat white rice with butter so that isn't really all that healthy.
ReplyDeleteI am so thankful to have great amenities at my office, including snacks and drinks. However, 70% of these are not healthy. Instead I try to put fresh stuff in our fridge at the office weekly, including low fat dressing, veggies, and fruit, and I always try to keep PB at my desk now for quick and healthy snacks!
ReplyDeleteThat would be so nice but it's cool that you give the office some healthy options! :)
DeleteThis is awesome! I've bought steam packs of rice in the past and that makes way too much for me and doesn't reheat well. This is perfect for lunches!
ReplyDeleteThis is the perfect portion. I do love them!
DeleteGreat idea for on the go!
ReplyDeleteI will now keep some in my desk, cabinet, and maybe even diaper bag. :)
DeleteThat's pretty cool. Microwaved rice that was made the night before is never as good. It's always best fresh. Adding veggies (and teriyaki chicken) sounds like a perfect lunch.
ReplyDeleteTeriyaki chicken would've rounded it off. Think next time I'll make some chicken ahead of time.
