Mommy and Me: 12 Week Update

12 Weeks...Seriously!?  Yep.  12 weeks post baby and life is back on track.  I'm back at work. E's adjusted to being a big brother and our family is complete.

Allie at 12 Weeks:

Allie continues to grow like a weed.  She is becoming more interactive, smiling and talking.  It really melts your heart.

Eating:
A is eating about 5-6 ounces each time and is gaining a good appetite.  Next month we will introduce rice.  I can't believe it's getting close to time for that already.

Sleeping:
Allie is a rock star in this category if you ask me (at least compared to E).  She goes down at 8:30 and wakes up once at 2:30, eats and goes back down till 5:30.  Last night she actually slept till 5:30 (no 2:30 feeding).  So great.

Interacting:
She is definitely interacting well.  She has been spending more and more time on her activity playmate and I love to sit and watch her learn to use her arms.  You can almost see the wheels turning.

I could sit and listen to her coo for days.

All in all, she is a great baby.  Her temperament is chill and she pretty much just goes with the flow.

Mommy at 12 Weeks:

Sleep:
I have been trying to go to bed as quickly as possible but with 1 month of school left it's getting very busy so I'm in bed around 11:00.  Not ideal but there's light at the end of the tunnel.

Breastfeeding:
I definitely feel like I should get the "I Tried" trophy here.  I'm just barely getting by.  I'm making just enough to keep Allie comfortable but I haven't been able to "bank" any.  I know that at some point in the pretty near future I'm gonna have to start supplementing.  I'm not happy about it but I can't let Allie suffer because I'm too stubborn to give her what she needs.  It's something I'm just going to have to come to terms with.  I guess the 80 ounces of water, mother's milk tea and rest when I can get it, just isn't helping.

Workouts:
This has been going so well until last week.  I was up to 20 miles a week and I was really feeling like I was in a groove.  Then I was plagued with an injury from labor that just won't go away so I had to take a week off which puts me in a tough spot for Rock n Roll but I'm not going to let it stop me.

Weight Loss:
I'm 4 lbs away!  I feel a little better every week but I wish my stomach would return to normal or at least the extra skin would go away.

I had a few weeks where the weight loss stalled out and I'm pretty sure my diet had something to do with it.  I seriously need to do Laura's Sugar Detox.

4 Weeks8 Week Update

I know lots of you are new momma's out there..how are you doing?

On a side note, see that tank I'm wearing?  The SweatySelfie Tank (#SweatySelfie) ?  Yep, that's my own design and that's my prototype shirt.

What do you think?  Pretty soon you will be able purchase one for yourself!  How cool is that?!

  4. Wow, A is getting so big! I loved the months 3-4 with my girls because their little personalities started to blossom. You look fabulous! 4 lbs is nothing! I held on to a few extra pounds while I was nursing, but as soon as I weaned my girls, the last little bit disappeared. Think my body just needed it to support the milk factory!

  6. Happy 12 weeks :)

Do NOT feel bad about switching to formula if that is what you need to do (or even if it's just want you WANT to do)! Your heart is in the right place, and really, does anything else matter? I was initially upset with myself for switching, but we're better off because of it.
