Wow! What an amazing weekend! What made it so amazing? The fact that we had absolutely nothing but family time, post season baseball and working out.
You really aren't allowed to live in St. Louis unless you love Cardinal Baseball or at least to live in our house. We were lucky enough to go to both playoff games Friday night and Saturday. Even the kids got to go! MiniE already loves baseball. Too bad we didn't have any cardinal gear that fit her.
Then after the house was relatively clean, I felt like treating myself so I stopped by my favorite store in the world...my local running store...Big River Running. Did I mention they had a sale going on and I MIGHT have gotten another rundelicious top. I don't think two is excessive, especially when I got it for HALF OFF!!
Then it was off to the gym where the kids behaved in the gym and I managed to get a 4 mile run and some weights all while streaming the Ironman Championship from Kona. You don't have to be a triathlete to understand the gravity of the commitment and dedication these athletes have put in to getting to Kona and while I know, I may probably never get to cross that finish line, it has definitely reignited my love of triathlon. (More to come on that later).
Sunday AM around 7, E woke up and I decided to get up with him to let S sleep in. So at 7:30, E and I geared up and headed out. What was supposed to be 8 for my long run turned in to only 6 because E was done.
Then it was time for church
And finally naptime.
It was just about as perfect as a fall weekend could be. Now I'm ready to start my week off with a sense of determination to up my mileage and get ready for Rock 'n' Roll STL in a couple weeks.
How was your weekend? Did you race? Did you watch the IM Championships?

40 mile treadmill run?!? That is crazy.
ReplyDeleteI did an 18 mile race as part of marathon training. It is my furthest run to date, and while it was rough, it wasn't terrible. This marathon might even be "enjoyable"!
such a perfect weekend there and here.
ReplyDeletelottsa focus on integrating the MIND BODY AND SPIRIT in our oakland part of the world.
VERY REJUVENATING.
That sounds so nice and peaceful--great family time. And I agree--nothing at all excessive about two rundelicious tops!
ReplyDeleteThat's my kind of weekend!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely sounds like a great weekend for you! MiniE is getting so big, man time flies! Not that I have to tell you that :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't watch IM championships a ton but I was checking in on it occasionally to check on some of the pro's (one pro, Jennie Hansen is from right here in Rochester...so naturally I had to cheer!)
