When I was a kid, I drooled over Reebok
shoes. They were the ‘it’ thing to
have. Even through high
school..secretly, I went out for cheerleading my senior year just so I could wear,
with pride, the Reebok black high tops that the girls wore. They were so cute and looked so good. I wanted to wear them. Sure, I could’ve bought them myself but I
wanted to wear them with purpose. These
memories have stuck with me for a long time.
I’ll admit, my perceptions of Reebok had
changed slightly over the years. There
was a time a few years ago when I thought Reebok might be on the decline. Then about a year ago I really started to pay
attention. They were making big changes
and they were good. Their connection
with Crossfit is genius and a match made in heaven.
But the changes didn’t stop with
CrossFit. Reebok also spent some time
designing some really amazing products including the VentureFlex shoes. They sent E a pair and he hasn’t separated
from them since. They have become his
“go to” shoes. These shoes are designed
with the same care and detail that the rest of their line is. They have an incredibly flexible outsole
which E takes full advantage of running from one end of the house to another.
We got ours but you can see them for
yourself at Finishline online or in the nearest store (they are on sale right now online). They are reasonably priced and I really do
think they are a good value. This is Es
first pair of shoes with laces and it’s been fun to watch him want to learn how
to tie his shoes.
So my secret love affair isn’t so secret
anymore and I’m passing it on to my kids I guess. E is so proud of his “running shoes” and
that’s ok with me.
I think Reebok made a really smart move by redefining itself with cross fit. And yes, I used to be a black hightop wearer. Kind of makes me cringe now!
ReplyDeleteI love my reebok crossfit shoes and shorts. Their new line of gear is amazing. Can't wait to get myself a set of lifting shoes too!
