There is so much that makes Monday Marvelous but I'm talking Heart Health and Family today! I have always been very aware of the fact that I run a high risk of heart disease and when I started noticing some pretty drastic swings in my heart rate, I got a little worried. (see Heart of the Matter post)
I went to a cardiologist and had an Echocardiogram (pictures of my heart), a stress test (a really expensive run on a treadmill) and 24 hour heart rate monitoring. So, I got the results this weekend and...
- Yes, I do have a slightly irregular heartbeat but nothing to get worried about.
- Yes, my heart rate does beat faster than the norm in all scenarios. Resting and working out but there are no signs of additional stress as a result of it. In fact, I explained MAF training to my cardiologist who had his reservations at first but during our phone conversation & follow up he had said he looked into it and based on what he read and what my goals are, he thinks I should target a heart rate of about 168 given what we learned in all these tests. That made me SUPER happy! So, I've been given the "thumbs up" to start Half Ironman Training whenever I want. YEAH!
Knowing all that makes this Monday Marvelous.
Family, as if I have to say it, makes everyday Marvelous but this weekend was full of family time. I traveled for work last week and when I get home, the kids are always just a little clingier than normal so this weekend, I really couldn't go anywhere without at least one munchkin hanging around.
So when it got yucky on Saturday, I worked out at home and E was there "ekercising" with me. That's pretty marvelous!
Saturday's post, it's a little more of the same. Just some marvelousness that you won't want to miss.
Hope you have a marvelous Monday! What is marvelous for you today?
