Marvelous Monday: Memories and Music

Sometimes the best weekends are those when nothing is planned.  Those are the times when little memories are made and life is enjoyed.

I seem to have gotten myself a nice little injury after last week's half (read the recap here) so I've been trying my hardest to "rest" it.  In lieu of crazy long runs and workouts, I filled my weekend with building little memories and amazing music.

The Many Faces of MiniE
I can't believe this little thing is about to turn 1 on Wednesday.  Blink and this is what happens.  Time flies!

Big Brother Showing MiniE the games at Chick-fil-a

I could watch these two all day, some days I do.  Saturday night was a night of Home Depot trips and dinner at the Chick-fil-a.  It's about the only place with an "indoor playground" that I will let the kids use.  It's always clean, the people are extraordinary and it's so much fun to watch them explore.

This weekend S and I also got to go listen to some music that was beyond marvelous.  It's inspiring, it's emotional and it reminds what power music has.  It's more than just what you fill your playlist with, it helps you recall memories, it takes you away from reality and it opens your mind.

If you ever get a chance to see Ben Folds play with a symphony, do it.  It's an amazing show that you can just get lost in.  If you don't believe me, search for it on YouTube.  So I'm going to end my weekend thinking about all the amazing memories and moments this weekend afforded me and feel inspired and ready to take on a new week!

What inspired you this weekend?  What memories did you make?

  1. The sunshine and warmth from Saturday inspired me. I feel like I've got a fire burning in me again! And Ben Folds - so good! And fantastic live. I can't imagine how good it would be with a symphony.

  2. Um Ben Folds with a symphony!? That sounds straight up DREAMY. I've never had the chance to see him live, but I think it would be similar to seeing Bon Iver at Radio City Music Hall - I just sat back and relished in the beauty of it! I'm glad you had a fun weekend!

  5. Oh, the weather this weekend was amazing!! My kids were outside ALL day, EVERY day. Watching them dig in the dirt, play with neighbors and ride bikes makes me a happy mama.
