Wow! Is it really Friday already?! Seriously, this week has flown. I'm not entirely sure how it's Friday already.
We've had a crazy week. Workouts were pretty good.
Sunday - I actually finished my long run early. Yeah, that's right, crazy but I got my butt up early. I'm not talking "get up with the sun" early, but I am talking "get up before the kids get up early". It was a great 8 mile run. I've been trying to pick up the pace a little and felt like I did that. With my run done, S and I were able to enjoy a Rams game together...kidless.
Monday - Rest day. My right knee was a little tender so the kids and I took the opportunity to go check out the local Y. I have wanted to join for a long time but I just couldn't imagine paying $80 a month but my desire for a pool and more activities for the kids finally got the best of me. So we signed up...at this point I'm carrying two gym memberships!! Crazy?! Yes, but I seem to justify it in my mind somehow.
Tuesday - I was crowned mother of the year. Ok, not really. MiniE was pretty restless Monday night but nothing to out of the ordinary. Finally, at around 3, I went to check on her only to find she had gotten sick. Guilt quickly got the best of me. Ugh! So we stayed home together Tuesday, snuggled, she slept, as you'll see in my IG pictures, and I even snuck in stroller run which she seemed to enjoy.
Wednesday - First visit to the Y meant 3 miles of intervals and a quick dip in the pool with E. He was so excited that I almost forgot I was paying $80 a month.
Thursday - Day off and travel home. Coming to see my mom and niece and nephew.
Friday - A day at home with the kids. I always love coming to my moms house because it is quiet. Going out and sitting on the patio in the dark and just realize how quiet it really is. No buzz of the city, no light, just absolute dark. It's so peaceful. I have a 6 mile run planned and a two hour drive back home.

This weekend is lots of fall fabulous running and family time! I'm prepping for Rock 'n' Roll St. Louis and Rock 'n' Roll LA. Want to run with me? I have discount codes! Check them out here!
Oh, get your stroller prepped and ready. I'm hoping to have a HUGE announcement next week! In the meantime, check out this post from earlier in the week...You Might Be a Mother Runner If..
How was your week? What's in store for your weekend?
I pay $40 a month for two of us at World Gym, which doesn't even have a pool. We actually haven't been using it lately (fitness blogger confession!). I think, with any gym membership, if you like the place, use it, and it has options for your kids, it's worth it.
ReplyDeleteGym memberships are so hard! I have been thinking of starting up again just because I want the pool and there's plenty of activities for the kids. Can't wait for the fun announcement! ;)
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of You Might Be a Mother Runner, I totally wore my running clothes for hours yesterday just waiting for the chance to get a run in....and then ended up doing a stroller run (w/hills) for 4 miles. Someone needs to create a conversion chart for stroller miles to regular miles!
ReplyDeleteAwe!!! Poor MiniE! Hope she is feeling better!! And I think you will get lots of use out of your Y membership! Especially with the kiddos!
ReplyDeleteGym memberships are so expensive! We pretty much have it so we have access to a pool. We have a kidless weekend! Yahoo! Going to try to get a long run in plus teaching a bunch of yoga classes. Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love how we can find ways to justify all sorts of things, even having 2 gym memberships ;-) My husband and I did that for a while b/c we had a great deal at one gym (that sadly closed) but he was into triathlons and needed a pool so he paid for another gym to take master's swim classes. Totally made sense of course!
ReplyDeleteHa, ha--we've all been there with a mom move like that! Hopefully she is feeling better by now, and you too! Enjoy your Y membership. We have considered two memberships as well, b/c I want the Y (nearby) and my husband plays basketball at our current gym system. What to do?!
ReplyDeleteAwesome job finishing your long run early.
ReplyDeleteI have been horrible about hitting snooze over and over.
