Like this? Don't miss out on my top 5 Stroller Running Tips
I remember when I got the B.O.B. stroller. I was soo excited. When I found out I was pregnant, that was the absolute one thing I knew I had to have.
When we finally got around to using it, I spent the first few runs just getting a feel for the stroller and figuring out my form. I know, sounds weird doesn't it? Form?! Stroller?! Seriously, don't you just push it? Well, depending on the stroller you get, you don't even really have to push it. You actually do more steering than pushing. (Blast from the Past: First run with the BOB)
Anyway, E and I wanted to help you new moms/dads or soon to be moms/dads with the tips that I picked up early on so you can more quickly get into a rhythm with your little running buddy. (See what I did there?) :)
I've said it before, that stroller probably has more miles on it than my car. I've got the older model. The newer model is pretty sweet!

Ok, so let me know..Are you part of the stroller brigade? Do you have any other tips and tricks for our soon to be fellow members? How did you like the vlog? Be honest. It's ok, I can take it. Any other topics, you would like to see in Vlog form? I'm open to suggestions.
I wish I would have seen this before I bought my jogger. Actually, I may just get a BOB anyway. You're right - it IS an investment not to be skimped on. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHa! You should I love it. Now I want the little pod to go on the back of my bike for the kiddo
DeleteLove your video and such great tips! We never got a jogging stroller. I'm not sure why. I needed your vlog 5 years ago! :-) But this is a great vlog because it's super informative and you're talking about something that is useful to demonstrate. Great job!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Much appreciated!
DeleteThanks for your vlog! I definitely take turns pumping my arms. It helps a great deal. I do like the BOB though. Darn, I wish we had one.
ReplyDeletecheck craigslist or ebay. If you watch long enough, you can usually find a good used one at a good price!
DeleteGreat videos! Demos really help. I'm not in a place to need this yet, but I appreciate the challenge to bringing a stroller on your run.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Stroller running I think has been what's helped me increase my speed.
DeleteNice job on your vlog! We love our BOB, too... you covered all the tips I would have hit on. :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Glad all the other mamma's out there agree. :)
DeleteVery nice! I am most definitely part of the stroller brigade, and proud of it!
ReplyDeleteYeah for the Stroller Brigade!!
DeleteLike you, when I found out I was pregnant I knew that if there was anything I got at my shower the BOB had to be one of them. Luckily I have a great mom who loves to run too, so she made it a group gift and all lot of my friends contributed towards that stroller. So when i run I think of the 20 or so people who helped buy it for me. My daughter is now 2.5 and she loves running with me. She calls the stroller by name: BOB. It's cute:-) And since we're expecting number two in September my husband found a BOB duallie on craigslist for cheap! It was my mother's day gift. perfect!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! How cute! Mine was a group gift too. I think they all feel good knowing they contributed to a gift that's such a key part of our everyday life
DeleteOne day I may need this some day! And, you are ALREADY in shape for Hawaii! Looking so fit!
ReplyDelete:) You're awesome! It's weird. Parts of my body I'm ok with...others..I'd feel better about with a little more work.
DeleteI hope you do need this vlog someday. :)
Love the video and your "extras" (dog and son). We have the B.o.B. too and I love it. I also have the weather shield for it, do you? It's AWESOME for rain, wind, cold, etc. I ran w/ my daughter last winter in single-digit weather. The weather shield and some warm blankets and she was fine in there! She was about 1.5 at the time...clearly not something you'd do with a little baby.
ReplyDeleteYour tips are great!
I don't have the winter shield but have thought about getting it a number of times. I'm worried now that I won't be able to find it since I have the older model.
DeleteThanks!
i enjoy reading your blog. When you run, do you lock the front wheel or keep it in the swivel mode? I have just recently bought a B.O.B and was wondering which was best.
ReplyDeleteThank you Amber! I usually leave the front wheel in swivel mode. I feel like I have an easier time turning with it that way.
DeleteI'd definitley try it out both ways and see. I think it would also depend on the type of terrain.
I hope you'll love the B.O.B. I have been really happy with it!
I have a BOB SUV, and Iove it! It's well worth the money, and the accessories that you can pair with the BOB are fantastic. The all-weather cover let me run all winter here in cold Michigan. So glad you posted the video of running one handed, I've been using two for a year now and hopefully going one-armed will help me improve my form. Thanks! I don't usually take my son when I do a race because a lot of times they put you in the back when you have a jogger or they don't allow them. But pushing a stroller has helped my times so much, because when I run without the jogger it's so much easier! Re: swivel wheels, my wheel doesn't have that option :( so it requires a little more oomph to turn. I think it would be best to have the lock/unlock option.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a running mom, but a running dad - I've done a series of pieces on running with a baby. This is my 4th installment, links to the others are at the bottom. http://runnegev.com/2014/05/28/running-with-a-baby-part-4-everything-is-an-adventure/
