I need to vent for just a minute because I HATE being sick. I have no time to be sick. It's so frustrating because it always seems to happen right before a race. As of now, I've missed an entire week of training for the Rock'n'Roll STL and I'm not very optimistic that I'll be able to get back up to the mileage I was at in time to work on a new PR with only two weeks to go.
I might have to let this one ride and start thinking about the next, which I hate to admit.
I've been trying a lot of natural remedies with this cold but I've not found any that are exceptionally effective.
Symptoms: Bad cough, stuffy head and lack of energy.
So I ask...what are your natural cold remedies? I need them!
I got it last week too...upped my Vitamin D supplements. Lots of sleep (haha, being busy moms makes this really hard!) Good luck! I hate being sick too :(

ReplyDelete- Use a neti pot to clear out the sinuses if you can get past the feeling of potentially drowning yourself :)
- Shots of apple cider vinegar every few hours or so. I usually mix with 6-8oz of water and chug. I don't have the patience to do this, but I've heard you can mix it with water, heat it up, and add a little honey to make it more like tea.
- Gargle with salt water
- Up the vitamin c as well as sleeping when you can (I know, good luck with that one!)
- Don't stress over the PR right now. Stress just weakens your immune system more.
