Rendezvous with a Malibu

So call me crazy but the fact that this even happened blows my mind a little.  Chevy teamed up with a regional PR firm to help show off St. Louis, which I love.  So they offered to give me a Chevy for a week, drive it around and experience some of the Keys to STL in hopes that I would tell you about it.

If you have been reading this blog for any amount of time, you've probably seen a few posts dedicated to St. Louis so you know it won't be hard for me to tell you about it.

2013 Chevy MalibuBut before I tell you about the adventures in the Malibu, I do have to tell you about just getting the car.  Someone, a really nice guy, drove it to me..all the way from Dallas, Tx.  Yeah, he drove it to my house, dropped it off, got in a cab and drove away.  That was on a Monday.  Then, a week later, someone showed up at my house, picked it up and drove it back to Dallas, Tx. Either I'm special or the car is special.  I'm going to say both.  ;)

Call me simple minded or easily impressed but I thought that was pretty crazy.

Anyway, the car itself was pretty sweet though I have to tell you, my perception of Chevy before this was a little lackluster.  I knew they made the corvette and that's about it.  When this came rolling up, it got my attention.

My next action item was to check to see if a B.O.B. jog stroller would fit in the trunk.  IT DID! Although I will say that a double would probably NOT fit.

I got to drive it all week, put the SUV in the garage.  I didn't miss any features of my current vehicle.  It had all of them and more.  I really liked the backup camera.  That was so nice and you knew exactly what you were seeing.

This vehicle had an ecofeature that utilized a smart sensoring system to save gas.  When I normally would've filled up on a Thursday in my vehicle, I didn't fill up once.  I'm not even joking...not once.  It shuts off at a stop which is also pretty crazy.

I also could've gotten in some trouble with this car,  It was far sportier than I thought it was going to be and I realized just how full of lead my foot really is.  Thank god they took it away...I'm pretty sure I would've gotten a ticket(s) soon.

E loved it because it was way easier for him to get in and out of his car seat than the SUV was.

We ended the week with a little fun with my husband.  It's also one of my Keys to STL, which I'll do an entire post on soon but as a quick glance, we went to the Kitchen Conservatory and took a cooking class.  Now, I don't know about your husband this isn't his idea of fun normally but he did say, he enjoyed himself but I don't want to give it all way.  Here is a quick glimpse of some of our cooking fun.
