Enlightened: Good For You Ice Cream Review and Giveaway

First off, I have to say a HUGE thank you for the amazing support on my earlier post.  It really amazes me just how much you all just give support so unconditionally.  I love our tribe (in the words of Miz)!

When Enlightened Ice Cream approached me at testing their product and offering a giveaway, I was skeptical.  Wouldn’t you be?  I mean the main page of the website touts..

“The Good-For-You Ice Cream” 

Oh man… REALLY? Sounds too good to be true right? That tag line had me curious enough to try it and I know you’re wondering too.  Truth is, these have been in my grocery store for a little while now but I never noticed them because I haven’t been doing dairy since MiniE came around.  I am happy to report that MiniE has outgrown her dairy issues.  I still don’t eat much of it just because but when the right reason comes around, I can actually indulge.

So with the knowledge that I wasn’t going to affect MiniE, I took the folks at Enlightened up on their offer.  I was sent a voucher for a free box and headed to the grocery store.   

The Details: The box boasts several things that make these bars different from other ice cream treats…

• Only 70 calories
• 8 grams of protein
• 5 grams of fiber
• Only 3 grams of sugar
• They do not contain any artificial sweeteners 

The Pros: Delicious and Filling.  I bought and tried the Fudge and loved them.  They really hit the spot.  They were a good size and actually I cut it up and shared it with E.   

The Cons: There are only 4 in a box.  It’s priced similarly to other treats but has fewer in the package.  In this case, I’m going to say it’s quality over quantity.  These bars are worth buying.   

The Outcome: YUMMY!  The perfect summer treat with the added bonus of being good for you.
