Mommy and Me: 6 Month Update

I can not believe it's been six months since MiniE came into our world.  In the same month, E turns 3.  They are exactly 2 and a half years apart.Agh!!  Life is moving way to fast.

MiniE:
Since my last update, MiniE has gone through so many changes.  She is rolling over like a champ, she has even starting laughing and giggling but E is the only one that can make her belly laugh which I think is a result of the little bond they are starting to form.  She really watches him and I can tell she looks up to him.

Eating:
We have made it to the 6 month mark breastfeeding and I'm so happy that we've made it this far.  It has been tough this time around.  We have started Rice and she loves it which is completely different than E.

Sleeping:
She still is an amazing sleeper.  She actually asks, basically, to go to bed at 7:30 and doesn't wake up till about 7:30.  In fact, both babies are sleeping through the night regularly and I couldn't be more grateful.

You just never know where she will be in the AM.  She moves all over her crib and loves her pillows.

Interacting:
She loves her brother and he loves her.  They are so cute when they interact.  She loves to be held but doesn't seem like she's very close to crawling and I'm ok with that.

Mommy:

Sleep:
I have been getting a consecutive 7 hours of sleep which is something that I really haven't experienced in about 3 years.  I had never realized that I wasn't dreaming until recently.  I have been having some messed up dreams.  It feels like my brain has been storing them for 3 years and is just pushing them all through at once.

Breastfeeding:
I said I wanted to make it to the 6 month mark exclusively breastfeeding and we have!  But I'm worried that it won't last much longer.  I have a business trip coming up and I do not have enough.

Workouts and Weight Loss:
I'm still about two or three lbs away from my prebaby weight but I'm back into all my work clothes which is helpful.  It's just too bad I don't like any of them anymore.

Running has been challenging until recently when I decided to convert to morning workouts.  I didn't think I could do but but turns out I can and I LOVE IT!  I have the Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon here in STL in a couple weeks.  I don't know if I'll be completely ready but I'll give it a shot.

I've also been doing HIIT workouts at home at night with the kids.

Outside of training, I've been doing a few more appearances on the local Fox channel.  Last week I did one about ways to get motivated.  Turns out it coincided with playoff baseball, so I got do my segment with this guy.

  1. What a doll! Congrats on making it to the six-month mark with breastfeeding. That's WONDERFUL! Go Mama! And I bet those last few pounds will melt away when you stop nursing. That was always the case for me. It was like my body hung on to them to make sure I had enough to provide for my girls, but then it disappeared quickly. I had to go on several business trips while I was still nursing my girls, including some international trips. Schlepping my pump and milk around the world was quite an adventure. I sure don't miss that!
