What An Amazing Day

I couldn't have planned today any better.  It was just about perfect if you ask me.  My hubby and I took the day off to spend time with E for his big third birthday.

We started the day with some snuggle time while mom and dad took turns getting runs done.  After our runs were done, E demanded pancakes so we made some and he devoured about three of them.

We did get hims some gifts but he has so much stuff already that I focused more on one gift that seemed far more valuable...our time.  We spent the entire day together and it was beautiful.

After we cleaned up and got ready, we all headed to Eckerts Farm for some pumpkin picking and hay riding.  So I probably could've planned it a little better.  I picked the wrong Eckerts location so there was no hay ride but he took it pretty well.  We still had fun picking pumpkins and playing.  The weather was gorgeous!

We even got to get a family picture which turned out pretty well.

After a short drive home, E and I made cupcakes and now we're watching the Cardinals play the dodgers in what will most likely be the game that gets us into the World Series.  The kids are asleep, the hubs is at the game and I'm considering an Epson Salt bath before bed.

When you take time away from work, this is exactly how it should be spent if you ask me.  A perfect family day.

How was your Friday?  What amazing plans do you have for the weekend?

  1. Happy Birthday to your big boy! :) Looks like it was a wonderful day and that's a great family photo.

Totally off-topic, but how awesome are those sippy cups (that E is drinking from in the top photos)? They are the only kind I've found that my son cannot spill from. And by spill I mean deliberately try to cover every surface with whatever liquid is inside!!
